Coming to the plot, it is old-fashioned 80’s story blended with the pacy screenplay and filled up with massy elements. Director seems to cash the festive season by including sentiment in the second half in order to attract the family audience. But that results in bringing down the pace of the movie.
Narasimha(Balakrishna) along with his son moves to Kumbakonam. There he hired as a driver by Murali Mohan(Natasha’s father). One day Natasha who is a drug addict hits the Kalakeya Prabhakar’s brother with a car. People made Prabhakar believe that Narasimha did the accident. So Prabhakar threatened Balakrishna. Knowing about this the corrupt cop who has the rival with Narasimha kills Prabhakar’s brother. Is Prabhakar finally able to find the murderer of his brother?. Who is Narasimha? Why did he come to Kumbakonam?. Who is Gauri(Nayanthara)?. What is the relation between Gauri and Narasimha?. Why Narasimha intend to save the cop’s son? forms the rest of the story.
- Balakrishna energy and powerful dialogue delivery
- Production Values
- Pacy screenplay in first half
- Outdated direction
- lag in the second half
Balakrishna impressed the audience with his intense dialogue delivery, dance, and action scenes. He literally holds the film on his shoulders. The way he did dances, fights, and intent we could not resist ourselves to appreciate his efforts and just one word to describe is exceptional. Nayanthara entertained the audience not only with glamour but also with impactful performance. While Natasha Doshi fascinated the audience with her glamour. Hari Priya is good in her role. The rest of the cast well- fitted in their respective roles.
K.S Ravi Kumar the way he directed the film is good. But he followed the outdated style of direction. He needs to change as per the new trend. Chirantan Bhatt Music is good but not up to the standards. The cinematographer C. Ram Prasad has left his mark in every frame. C. Kalyan Productions Values are outstanding.
On the whole Jai Simha is a watchable movie of the festive season. Balakrishna’s energy, massy elements, intense dialogues will certainly pull off the audience into theaters. The film may not able to attract the class and multiplex audience.
